Sleep disruption and fatigue can have many causes. A practitioner can discuss your health history and whether acupuncture may complement your existing care.

Our approach

Looking beyond the symptoms.

In Chinese medicine, health is understood through the interconnected nature of the body and mind. Rather than viewing symptoms in isolation, we consider the broader picture — from physical health and emotional wellbeing to sleep, lifestyle and individual circumstances.

At Ānshén, this philosophy guides our approach to acupuncture, with each treatment thoughtfully tailored to the individual.

Good to know

Common questions.

Can acupuncture cure stress, anxiety or insomnia?

No. Acupuncture isn't a cure for any of these, and no honest practitioner will promise that. What it can offer is support: a calm, unhurried space and a technique many people find helps settle an overactive nervous system, used alongside your other care rather than instead of it.

Should I see my GP instead?

If stress, anxiety or sleep problems are significantly affecting your life, please speak with your GP or a mental health professional first. Acupuncture can sit alongside that care, but it isn't a substitute for medical or psychological treatment.

Which health topic should I start with?

Start with whichever topic best matches what you would like to discuss. An initial assessment considers your health history and concerns as a whole.

What does a first appointment involve?

A 90 minute initial acupuncture appointment: time to talk through your history and current concerns, a Chinese medicine assessment, and your first treatment, all in one unhurried visit.
